Facilities

Fresh Products operates two integrated production regions in Lebanon, Akkar and the Bekaa Valley, each combining farmland, carrot processing and packaging, supervised by the same team of agricultural engineers. Packing runs in Akkar from mid-January to June and in the Bekaa from June to January.

PROCESSING LINE & PACKAGING

Our European carrot processing line (up to 14 tons/hour) and packing line (up to 10 tons/hour) run nine stages, from pre-washing to hydrocooling and drying, followed by weighing, packing and palletising.

The processing line consists of:

  • Pre-washing.

  • Washing.

  • Pre-grading.

  • Length grading.

  • Manual sorting and inspection.

  • Polishing and rinsing.

  • Diameter grading.

  • Hydrocooling.

  • Drying.

The packaging line constitutes:

  • Weighing.

  • Packaging.

  • Palletizing.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

  • Solar power producing 900 MWh a year.

  • Diesel generator 600 KVA.

  • Backup diesel generator 400 KVA.

  • Integrated electrical room.

COLD STORES TECHNOLOGIES

FRESH PRODUCTS implemented two different types of cold stores:

Our cold stores:

  • 12 standard cold rooms of different sizes (21 rooms and 4,000 tons of total capacity).

  • 9 advanced cold rooms equipped with a controlled atmosphere system:

    • Control atmosphere system is our latest storage technology which allowed us to achieve excellence by developing new technical solutions and refining the selection of components used.
